Now, I'll be the first to admit that comments are great. But to practically TELL people who are looking at your art, "It's not enough to wordlessly enjoy my work, you have to shower me with praise as well" is just whore behavior. Comment-whore behavior.
Who am I to dictate how others choose to like my drawings? Favoriting a piece, to me, means more than a comment. Favoriting means that someone liked your art so much that they want to keep it around either to show to a friend or to look at later themselves or to print out, etc. That doesn't require an additional "hey I like this" comment, that would be redundant.
Comments are best when they're meaningful, thought-out, or at the very least GIVEN FREELY. I mean seriously, just be glad that folks are digging your stuff. It's called humility and it's not a bad thing.
